About The Lunar Resources Company

A Texas for-profit corporation, founded 1994. A wholly-owned subsidiary of The Moon Society since 2020.

Our Mission

The Lunar Resources Company exists to make a permanent human presence on the Moon economically self-sustaining. We design and advance the commercial enterprises — resource extraction, refining, and the infrastructure they require — that turn lunar regolith from a destination into a working environment. Our parent organization, The Moon Society, is a US 501(c)(3) non-profit that sets the long-range vision; TLRC carries out the operational and industrial work that vision requires.

Our Vision

A thriving commercial lunar settlement, built around the same kind of heavy industry that has anchored every successful frontier in human history. Four pillars are already in view:

Settlement follows industry — not the other way around.

Our Projects

Our flagship project is The Artemis Project — a detailed mission architecture for a commercial lunar base, first designed in 1994 and refined ever since. It has been promoted since 1996 by Artemis Society International and from 2000 by The Moon Society. TLRC's current mandate is to update Artemis for the era of commercial launch and to integrate the four-industry settlement framework above.

Our Operations

Two operating subsidiaries support our mission.
